Close button sends client to the tray, statically linked Qt for OSX.
See the Changelog for list of features and fixes currently only available in the nightly builds.
This is probably related to Unicode/UTF-8 characters, and has been fixed in SoulseekQT. However, since the old client did not handle Unicode/UTF-8 properly, some incompatibility is expected.
QT only handles Unicode and doesn't provide any simple way to use distinct codepages, so it's unlikely this will ever get fixed.
