Bug report

How do I submit a bug report to Soulseek devs?

I'm getting an issue where Soulseek gets stuck in a non-existent monitor.

To replicate:

1. Have two monitors running
2. Drag Soulseek into the second monitor (right)
3. Close Soulseek down
4. Disconnect the second monitor
5. Restart pc
6. Open Soulseek
7. Soulseek is now inside the right monitor which isn't there anymore. Changing the screen resolution settings in Control panel has no effect

I'm using Windows 7 64bit
AMD Radeon R7 200 series
Intel HD graphics 4600
2 x Philips 190CW monitors at 1440x900 resolution
Intel i5-4690 Haswell Refresh 3.50ghz
8gb DDR-III ram
Sandisk 240Gb SSD SDSSDX-240G-G25
1tb hdd

I don't have a working dual monitor setup currently, but this might be easy to fix by making sure the window geometry is never restored outside the desktop. I'll post a build here later today that you can try out.

Thanks, Nir

Cheers for that, I'll give it a go when posted. Additional info: When you plug the second monitor back in Soulseek actually appears in the left monitor instead, odd.

Is there any word on this build? Where can I get it or will it be the default download?

BUMP

Sorry about that, I recently started a new job.. barely have time to breathe. Apparently there are checks in the code that should prevent the main window from restoring outside the desktop. I'll need to take a look at your client configuration file, if you have something like everything search installed, it's the latest soulseek-client.dat.[timestamp] file, usually in C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\SoulseekQt\1\

If you can upload it to something like DropBox and send me the link in private that would be great. I also sent you an invite in Hangouts so we can talk if things get complicated.

Thanks, Nir

This is the latest one (there were 3):

Ahhh, the hangouts was you? I just thought they had the wrong person. Sorry but I can't do a hangout tonight but some time tomorrow evening (7pm GMT would be possible).

Cheers, thanks. I should know more by the end of today.

As far as I can tell there's nothing in the client configuration that makes it not fit on your primary display. This might be an issue with Windows 7 (or Qt possibly) incorrectly restoring the window to an unattached monitor. Maybe one of the tips here will help? http://superuser.com/questions/216277/windows7-how-to-gather-windows-fro...

The weird thing is that if you plug the second monitor back in Soulseek appears in the primary monitor.

Windows+Left/Right will move it back into position. It also happened to Notepad++ so perhaps it's not Soulseek-specific.
