Can see in search but cannot download from ever-increasing number of users

I'm using Nicotine, because my machine(s) all run Ubuntu, always in the latest upgraded and updated versions. So I think this problem just might be Nicotine-specific, but I don't know, because I don't have any Windows machines with Soulseek on them to compare it with. Anyway, this is very frustrating because it always affects the most desirable potential downloads: people with no queues, with high rated speeds, and with high bitrate copies of whatever it is I want. I try to right-click and download folder from them, and nothing happens. If I try to download from them file by file, I can sometimes get individual files from the desired folder to appear in my downloads pane, but I still can't download them, because the downloads pane registers them as not connected. Yet there they are in the search pane, often quite a lot of them. I have experienced up to half a dozen of these inaccessible users in a single search, right-clicked and selected download folder, and seen nothing on my downloads pane at all. Then, again in this same search, I would select some less desirable-looking instance of the same target folder, for instance slower, or lower bit-rate, or queued for downloads by other users, and get a perfectly normal response. This didn't start at the time I first began using Nicotine, it's more recent. It's never fatal, in that I can always find copies of the things I want, but it's still very frustrating. Who are all these people, who seem to be the cream of the crop, and why are they inaccessible for downloads but still accessible for search?

Does Nicotine show Locked files? Some users are now user list-only but allow their files to be searched, so their files are indictaed by a 'lock' symbol in Soulseek and you need to contact them and request to be allowed to download

That would be an extra column in the search results? If so, Nicotine+ (this being the proper name of the client, actually) doesn't know of it. If it was like "share to users on buddy list only", then it wouldn't have any indication in the search view and one could only find out about it by reading the user info for that user. But what you're saying sounds like it ought to have a column of its own in the search results, headed by a padlock symbol and them marked on each line by Y/N. And Nicotine+ definitely doesn't have that, which if it's a recent development, is not surprising.
